Hair color: Black Eye color: Brown Marital status: divorced, currently single. Family: two daughters, a mother and an older sister, two younger brothers. Friends: quite a few, all outside the entertainment circle. Occupation: managing director, Sigma's Tokyo branch. Hobbies: collects first editions of post-Meiji era literature. Personality: Tanahashi is a very patient and hard-working man, married to his job, much to his former wife's regret. This led to the untimely demise of their marriage. However,Tanahashi lives close to his former wife who he regards as one of his close friends, despite their inability to live together. He sees his daughters (Kei, 6, and Misao, 4) as often as possible. Patient, calm and stable, Tanahashi is reliability personified. He has lived a rather sheltered life, and sometimes wonders how he ended up in the rather powerful position he possesses.Tanahashi is despite his relative innocence not a man to be trifled with. He is never cruel, angry or mean - having a conflict with Tanahashi is more like trying to break down a mountain with bare hands: nothing happens, except one ends up broken and bleeding. Tanahashi can be immensely stubborn and intolerably correct - unkind people might label him as anal and boring: the epitome of Japanese correctness. Strengths and flaws: Tanahashi keeps up appearances to a point where it is hurtful. He is a master of pretending that everything is all right; a fact that had quite a lot to do with his failed marriage. The correctness is necessary to work in the entertainment business, and it is one ofTanahashi's larger flaws that he is unable to stop playing the part when he leaves the office. The mask of politeness covers a slightly inexperienced man who has never let go of himself. He drinks only little, doesn't engage in anything outside the norm. He has never realised that it is, in fact, a possibility, and that something might be gained from doing so. The only glimpse of the innerTanahashi that is to be seen is when he has had one or two glasses too much: then he confesses that he harbours a dream of becoming a seiyuu himself - a dream he would never pursue. In situations like those, one might get the idea that there is an entirely different person hidden behind the boring Armani suit. Being stubborn, Tanahashi can be very determined, one-track-minded - which is why he forgot he was married at times. He is, despite his errors, a nice and affectionate person, both towards his daughters, his friends and the actors and entertainers he manages. His employees like him, and his quiet strength makes certain he never has to emphasise who is the boss. Maybe that is greatest flaw, and a flaw that has never allowed him to reach his full potential: he has never been taken to the outer limits of love or hate. Yet to fall in love, or to experience the almost unquenchable desire to strangle someone, Tanahashi's emotional life leads the same boring, grey life. Recent history: Working, working, working. Sigma is Tanahashi's life. He gets up in the morning, eats breakfast, go to work. The he goes home. Rinse, repeat. He is curently slightly enthusiastic due to the fact that he has landed a profitable and very interesting contract - one that might benefit his actors' reputation considerably and earn a delightfully grand sum of money for the agency. | |||||||||
